No heat, no hot water, or a boiler that's locked out and won't reset. Mo, Muhammad and David are on call across Glasgow around the clock for genuine boiler emergencies. Tell us the make and the fault code on the phone and we will bring the part with us.
Tell us what's up, we usually get back within the hour with a clear price.
Turn off the gas at the meter, open windows and doors, put out any naked flames, and get everyone out of the property. Then call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999, then us.
Four things worth doing before we arrive, they won't fix it, but they'll limit the damage.
Usually under the kitchen sink or near where the water enters the property. Turning it off stops more water getting in while you wait.
This drains the remaining water out of the pipes and takes pressure off the leak.
Electricals, rugs, anything that water damage would ruin. If water's near a socket or fuse box, stay well clear of it.
Tell us what you can see and hear. It helps us bring the right parts and gives you an honest idea of how long we'll be.
Not sure if it can wait until morning? Here's how we'd judge it, but honestly, just call and describe it, we'll tell you straight.
Not a script. We ask what the display shows, whether it's heat, hot water or both that's gone, and whether you can smell gas. That tells us what to bring and how urgent it is.
Based on where you are and what's going on, not a vague 'within the hour' that call centres use to get you off the phone. If it's going to be 40 minutes, we say 40 minutes.
We read the actual fault code and find the real cause first rather than guessing and swapping parts. It's slower for the first five minutes and faster for the whole job, because we're not fixing the wrong thing twice.
Once we know what's wrong, you get a price before any work starts. If it's straightforward we fix it there and then. If parts are needed that we don't carry, we tell you honestly and arrange the quickest return visit.
Here's what emergency boiler repairfrom Mo's team includes.
Every emergency boiler job, clear price before we start, work guaranteed for 12 months, Gas Safe engineers on every gas job.
Glasgow's boilers are as mixed as its housing. Older tenements and pre-war properties can still have original or long-since-upgraded systems with quirks a modern manual won't cover, while post-war semis and estates typically moved to combis decades ago and are now due their own replacement cycle. Knowing roughly what generation of boiler a property is likely to have before we knock on the door is a real part of diagnosing an emergency quickly.
Tenement flats present a particular challenge, boilers are often fitted into small original cupboards never designed for a modern combi's dimensions or ventilation needs, which can make access and airflow part of the actual problem rather than just the fault itself. We carry the smaller tools that make working in these spaces practical rather than turning up with kit built for a modern utility room.
Newer flats and conversions across the city centre and regeneration areas mostly have combis fitted in the last decade or so, which fail less often but in less familiar ways, usually electronic faults, sensor issues or PCB failures rather than mechanical wear. These jobs tend to be quicker to diagnose once we've confirmed it's not a wider system issue.
Landlord properties across the city add another layer, older or lower-spec boilers installed to a budget rather than for the property's actual heat load, which shows up as slow heat-up times or short-cycling on the coldest days, exactly when a genuine emergency callout is most likely.
Mo and David handle most of the emergency boiler callouts across Glasgow, David as a dedicated heating engineer and Gas Safe registered. Both have spent years dealing with the specific ways Glasgow properties lose heat, tenement flats on old gravity-fed systems, combis crammed into tight cupboards never designed for them, and boilers old enough that the fault code on the display isn't even in the current manual. That matters on an emergency call because guessing wrong on a gas appliance wastes time and risks doing it twice. The approach, learned over years on the tools, is to read the actual fault first rather than replacing parts and hoping. It takes a bit longer to look properly, but it means the job's actually fixed when we leave, not just quiet for a week.
A boiler emergency rarely stays isolated to the boiler itself. No heat in winter raises the risk of exposed pipework elsewhere in the property freezing next, so we'll check for that even if it's not why you called. Where the fault involves the flue, the pressure relief valve or any part of the gas train, our Gas Safe engineers check the wider system rather than just the one symptom you noticed, because a boiler fault and a carbon monoxide risk aren't always announced by the same signs. Low pressure is also often connected to a slow leak elsewhere in the system, so if we find one we'll usually check for early signs of the other while we're already there.
We give you a clear price before any work starts. That price is what goes on the invoice. Emergency boiler pricing reflects the actual fault, not the time of day, so a straightforward reset-and-repair costs the same at 2am as it would at 2pm, the price moves with the complexity of the job, not the clock. What changes the cost is usually which part has failed and whether it's one we carry on the van, older or less common boiler models sometimes need a part ordered in. We'll always tell you before starting if something's likely to push the price up, rather than surprising you on the invoice.
A single reset is usually safe to try if the boiler has simply locked out and there's no smell of gas, no visible leak and no error code you don't recognise. If it fires back up and stays on, that's a fine outcome. But repeatedly resetting a boiler that keeps locking out can mask a fault that's getting worse, and on a gas appliance that's not a risk worth taking to save a callout. If it locks out again within a day, or if you smell gas, see the pressure gauge behaving oddly, or the display shows a code you don't recognise, stop resetting it and call us. The honest answer with anything gas-related is that a professional look beats another guess.

“Our radiator pipe was bent and leaking. They answered straight away… Guy was here an hour later and he was wearing ID, very professional, patient and kind. We just got a new carpet in this room and he done an amazing job on getting little to no water on it. Couldn't recommend enough, price was reasonable.”

“We lost heating just in time for the coldest day of the year with a baby in the house… When I contacted them they were ready to dispatch that night. Fixed by the afternoon. Quoted that morning and no extra charges were added. Honestly cannot thank them enough.”

“As a small business owner, I needed a drainage company that could respond quickly. The team attended first thing in the morning, cleared the blocked drain and carried out a full CCTV survey. All documentation emailed across promptly. Professional, efficient and great value for money.”
