Kitchen Plumbing in Glasgow

Most kitchen plumbing calls are not a new kitchen. They are a tap that has started dripping, a sink being changed, a waste that gurgles, or a trap that leaks quietly into the cupboard until the chipboard swells. Mo and Kyle do that work on its own, without you needing to book a kitchen fitter for a job that takes an afternoon.

What Happens When You Call

1

Look at the waste before anything else

On a sink change this is what decides the job. Whether the new bowl leaves room for the trap to keep its fall is worth knowing before the sink is bought, not after.

2

Isolate properly

At the valves where they exist, and we will fit them where they do not so this is the last time the whole flat goes off for a job under one sink.

3

Fit, connect, seal

Sink or tap fitted, waste and trap connected with proper fall, seals made at the worktop so nothing gets underneath.

4

Test under running water

Not a quick check. Filled and drained with everything on that run working, because a joint that holds a trickle can still weep under load.

What's Covered

Here's what kitchen plumbingfrom Mo's team includes.

  • Sink and tap replacement, including deep and undermount sinks
  • Wastes, traps and the pipework under the sink put right
  • Waste repositioned where a new sink does not line up with the old run
  • Boiling water and filtered tap supplies plumbed in
  • Isolation valves fitted so the next job needs no drain-down
  • Everything leak tested under running water before we leave

Every kitchen plumbing job, clear price before we start, work guaranteed for 12 months.

Who You'll Get

Mo and Kyle do this work, and it is a decent share of what a Glasgow plumber actually does day to day. The detail that matters most is the one nobody sees: the fall on the waste under the sink. Get it wrong and the sink drains slowly forever and everyone blames the sink. In tenement flats where the stack position is fixed and kitchens have been reconfigured around it over decades, that is the part of the job that takes the thinking.

What Else Often Comes Up

Work under a kitchen sink tends to reveal what else is going on down there. Slow drainage is the common one, and it is worth separating from a plumbing fault: if the run is sound and the fall is right, a slow sink is a blockage rather than a plumbing job, which is our blocked drains page. Old isolation valves that no longer turn are the second, and they matter because they are what lets the next job happen without draining the flat. And where an appliance shares the waste run, its own connection is worth checking at the same time, since a washing machine or dishwasher pushing into a marginal waste will find the weakness that a sink alone never would.

Pricing, In Plain Terms

We give you a clear price before starting and that price is what goes on the invoice. Most kitchen plumbing is predictable: a tap change or a trap replacement is a short visit at a known cost. What moves it is the waste. Where a new sink lines up with the existing run this is straightforward, and where it does not, the waste has to be reworked to keep its fall to the stack, which is more work and is the thing worth establishing before you buy the sink. Isolation valves fitted at the same time as other work cost very little and are worth doing while the cupboard is already empty.

Repair the Tap, or Replace It?

A dripping tap is usually a cartridge or a washer, both cheap parts and a short visit, and on a decent quality tap that is the sensible fix. Replacement earns its cost in three situations. The first is a tap that has been repaired before and started again, because the next component is rarely far behind. The second is cheap sanitaryware where the parts cost a meaningful fraction of a new tap and are often hard to source for the specific model. The third is where the tap is genuinely seized at the base, since freeing it can damage the sink and at that point you are replacing both. We will tell you which of those you are in rather than defaulting to replacement, and a dripping tap is one of the few faults where waiting genuinely costs money, since it wears the seat and turns a cheap repair into a dearer one.

Kitchen Plumbing Questions

Yes, and the difference is whether the units are coming out. Kitchen installation is the full fit, carcasses, worktops and services moved. This is the plumbing on its own: a new sink into the existing worktop, a tap change, a waste put right. If you are replacing the kitchen, start on the installation page. If the kitchen is staying and something under the sink needs sorting, you are in the right place.

Communication was excellent from my 1st contact with Moe to the completion of the work. This included follow-up messages…

Our radiator pipe was bent and leaking. They answered straight away… Guy was here an hour later and he was wearing ID, very professional, patient and kind. We just got a new carpet in this room and he done an amazing job on getting little to no water on it. Couldn't recommend enough, price was reasonable.

We lost heating just in time for the coldest day of the year with a baby in the house… When I contacted them they were ready to dispatch that night. Fixed by the afternoon. Quoted that morning and no extra charges were added. Honestly cannot thank them enough.

As a small business owner, I needed a drainage company that could respond quickly. The team attended first thing in the morning, cleared the blocked drain and carried out a full CCTV survey. All documentation emailed across promptly. Professional, efficient and great value for money.
