If a Hamilton boiler has needed the same sort of attention two or three times, the thing to look at is usually not the boiler. It is what is circulating through it. Black water and iron sludge wreck pumps, block heat exchangers and take out valves, and every part you replace goes straight back into the same conditions that finished the last one.
Tell us what's up, we usually get back within the hour with a clear price.
Hamilton has a lot of long-established heating circuits that have never been cleaned, and a dirty system quietly destroys whatever gets fitted to it.
Hamilton is the county town of South Lanarkshire, older than the industry that shaped it, and its housing runs from the Victorian and Edwardian properties around the town centre through inter-war and post-war estates at Whitehill, Fairhill, Burnbank and Hillhouse to the newer developments spreading towards Blantyre and Larkhall. It is a large, settled town, and settled is the operative word.
Long-established properties tend to have long-established heating circuits. Radiators get changed, boilers get changed, but the pipework running between them is frequently the original installation, and the water inside it has been going round for decades. Steel radiators plus water plus oxygen makes iron oxide, and iron oxide collects at the bottom of every panel and in the coolest, slowest parts of the circuit until it is thick enough to restrict flow.
What that does to a boiler is the part people do not see. The heat exchanger has the narrowest waterways in the whole system, so it is where debris lands first, and a partially blocked exchanger overheats locally, bangs, and eventually fails. Pumps wear out on abrasive water. Motorised valves stick. David covers Hamilton and is Gas Safe registered, and on a property with a repeat history the first thing he does is take a sample of the system water, because it answers the question in about a minute.
Hamilton is a standing part of the Lanarkshire run, so a booked boiler repair here generally gets a date within a few days and you get a day and a window rather than an open morning. A system clean is a longer visit than a repair, several hours rather than one, so if that is what is being discussed tell us on the phone and we will book the time properly instead of trying to fit it round something else.
No heat at all and it will not keep is the emergency boiler repair side, same number. This page is booked work, which is where a system problem can actually be dealt with rather than got past.

Drainage is Paul and Kyle on the same number.
System cleaning, filters, inhibitor, pumps and balancing. On a Hamilton property with a repeat fault history this is usually where the actual answer is.
A pump or a diverter valve that goes again within a couple of years was almost certainly killed by the same thing that killed the first one. Fitting a third without addressing the water is buying the same fault on a subscription.
The classic sludge signature on a radiator. Sediment settles in the bottom of the panel and the water flows over the top of it, so the room never heats properly and the boiler runs longer trying. Bleeding does nothing because it is not air.
Debris in the heat exchanger creates hot spots where water flashes to steam against the metal, and the noise that follows is what gets described as banging or kettling. Left alone it cracks the exchanger, which is the most expensive part in the appliance.
A magnetic filter is a good thing, but it only works if somebody cleans it. Plenty of Hamilton properties have one that was fitted with the last boiler and has not been opened since, so it is full and doing nothing. That is a two-minute job during a service and it is regularly skipped.
Hamilton boiler work is usually David, who is Gas Safe registered and whose background is heating systems rather than appliances on their own. That matters on a repeat fault, because the interesting question is not which part failed, it is why it failed and whether the next one will go the same way. Drawing off a sample of system water into a glass takes a minute and tells you most of what you need. Clear means the circuit is healthy and the failure was ordinary wear. Black or brown with a metallic sheen means the system is the problem and fitting another part without dealing with it is knowingly selling somebody the same repair again. We would rather say that than take the easier job twice.
Both are legitimate and the answer turns on evidence rather than on principle. Fitting the part alone is the right call where the system water is clean, where there is no history of the same component failing before, and where the fault is plainly age-related on an appliance that has otherwise behaved. Most repairs are exactly that and nobody should be sold a flush they do not need. Cleaning the system is the right call where the water sample comes off black, where radiators are cold along the bottom, where there is banging or kettling from the boiler, or where the same part has now failed twice. In that situation a new component is going into the conditions that destroyed the last one and it will do the same thing on the same timescale. There is a middle answer too, which is worth knowing about because it is often the sensible one: a proper chemical clean and a magnetic filter fitted at the same time, rather than a full power flush. A power flush is a big, disruptive and expensive procedure and it is genuinely necessary less often than it gets recommended. On most domestic systems a chemical cleanse left to circulate, a thorough drain and refill, fresh inhibitor and a filter to catch what comes loose afterwards does the job for a fraction of the cost and disruption. We will tell you which of the three your system needs, and we will tell you when the honest answer is just the part.

“Our radiator pipe was bent and leaking. They answered straight away… Guy was here an hour later and he was wearing ID, very professional, patient and kind. We just got a new carpet in this room and he done an amazing job on getting little to no water on it. Couldn't recommend enough, price was reasonable.”

“We lost heating just in time for the coldest day of the year with a baby in the house… When I contacted them they were ready to dispatch that night. Fixed by the afternoon. Quoted that morning and no extra charges were added. Honestly cannot thank them enough.”

“As a small business owner, I needed a drainage company that could respond quickly. The team attended first thing in the morning, cleared the blocked drain and carried out a full CCTV survey. All documentation emailed across promptly. Professional, efficient and great value for money.”
