Washing Machine Installation in Glasgow

Almost every washing machine flood we get called to comes down to the same thing, a waste hose pushed into a standpipe and never clipped. It stays put for months, then works loose mid-cycle and empties onto the floor. Mo and Kyle plumb it in properly, secure the waste, fit isolation valves so you can turn it off without draining the flat, and run a full cycle before leaving.

What Happens When You Call

1

Check the connections before the machine goes in

Whether isolation valves exist, what the waste arrangement is, and whether the supply is cold only or both. Two minutes here decides whether this is an hour or half a day.

2

Connect, secure and level

Supplies connected, waste secured properly rather than pushed in, transit bolts out, machine levelled and the feet locked so it stays put under spin.

3

Run a full cycle

Not a quick fill and stop. A full cycle under load is the only way to see a leak that only shows at pump-out pressure, which is when most of them show.

What's Covered

Here's what washing machine installationfrom Mo's team includes.

  • Cold, or hot and cold, supply connected to suit the machine
  • Waste secured properly into standpipe or trap spigot, never just pushed in
  • Isolation valves fitted on the supplies so future work needs no drain-down
  • Machine levelled and feet locked so it does not walk under spin
  • Transit bolts removed and kept for you
  • Full test cycle run before we leave, checked for leaks under load

Every washing machine installation, clear price before we start, work guaranteed for 12 months.

Who You'll Get

Mo and Kyle handle these, and they are quick jobs done properly rather than quick jobs done fast. The two habits worth knowing are that the waste gets clipped and secured rather than pushed into a pipe, and that a full cycle gets run before anyone leaves. Both take a few extra minutes and between them they account for nearly every washing machine callout we attend that was somebody else's installation.

What Else Often Comes Up

A machine going in is a good moment to deal with things that are already marginal. Perished or bulging supply hoses are the obvious one, since they are cheap to replace now and expensive when they let go, and manufacturers generally recommend replacing them every five years or so regardless of appearance. A slow-draining sink on the same waste run will get worse once a machine is pumping into it, so it is worth mentioning at booking. And in a tenement flat, if there are no isolation valves anywhere on the kitchen supplies, fitting them while we are already there costs very little and means the next job in that kitchen does not start with shutting off the close.

Pricing, In Plain Terms

We give you a clear price before starting and that price is what goes on the invoice. A straight replacement onto existing connections with valves already fitted is the cheap end and takes about an hour. What adds to it is fitting isolation valves where there are none, reworking a waste arrangement that was never right, or running new supply and waste to a position that has never had a machine. Old machine removal is priced separately and openly rather than folded in. Where we find something that should be addressed while we are there, a perished hose or a trap that is already leaking, we will show you and price it rather than fixing it unasked.

Standpipe or Sink Trap Spigot?

There are two normal ways to take the waste and the right one depends on your kitchen rather than preference. A dedicated standpipe with its own trap is the better arrangement, because the machine drains independently and there is no chance of it backing up into the sink or of sink waste finding its way toward the machine. It needs the plumbing to exist or be run, so it is not always available. A spigot on the sink trap is the common alternative in Glasgow kitchens and works perfectly well when the connection is clamped properly and the hose is looped high enough to stop siphoning. What does not work is a hose pushed loosely into a pipe and left, which is the single most common cause of the floods we get called out to. If your existing arrangement is that, we will say so and secure it properly whether or not the machine itself is new.

Washing Machine Installation Questions

Honestly, on a straightforward swap in a modern kitchen, plenty of people do it themselves and it holds fine. Where it is worth paying is where there are no isolation valves, where the waste arrangement is awkward, or in a flat where a leak reaches a neighbour below. That last one is the reason most of our tenement customers call rather than chance it.

Communication was excellent from my 1st contact with Moe to the completion of the work. This included follow-up messages…

Our radiator pipe was bent and leaking. They answered straight away… Guy was here an hour later and he was wearing ID, very professional, patient and kind. We just got a new carpet in this room and he done an amazing job on getting little to no water on it. Couldn't recommend enough, price was reasonable.

We lost heating just in time for the coldest day of the year with a baby in the house… When I contacted them they were ready to dispatch that night. Fixed by the afternoon. Quoted that morning and no extra charges were added. Honestly cannot thank them enough.

As a small business owner, I needed a drainage company that could respond quickly. The team attended first thing in the morning, cleared the blocked drain and carried out a full CCTV survey. All documentation emailed across promptly. Professional, efficient and great value for money.
