When the gas has been off, whether for work on the supply, a meter exchange or something in the street, air gets into the pipework. A boiler trying to light on air rather than gas will run its ignition sequence, fail, try again and lock out, which looks exactly like a broken appliance and is not one.
Tell us what's up, we usually get back within the hour with a clear price.
Stirling properties that have had the gas off for any reason often come back with a boiler that will not light, and it is usually air in the supply rather than a fault.
Stirling runs from the old town below the castle down to the Victorian streets, the university side at Bridge of Allan and the estates and newer development spreading out around it. The housing is genuinely varied, from historic property in the centre to modern family homes on the edges.
What connects to this page is not the buildings but the supply. Any time gas has been shut off and restored, air ends up in the pipework between the meter and the appliance, and it has to be displaced before the boiler will light reliably. That happens after work on a supply, after a meter is exchanged, after a property has stood empty with the gas isolated, and occasionally after work in the street.
The appliance will usually clear it itself given a few attempts, which is why most people never think about it. Where the run is long or the air pocket stubborn, it does not, and the boiler locks out repeatedly instead. Mo covers Stirling and is Gas Safe registered, and purging the supply properly is a short piece of work that stops people concluding an appliance has failed.
No heat at all and it will not keep is the emergency boiler repair side, same number. If you can smell gas at any point, ring the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 before anyone else.
Booked boiler repairs across Stirling and out towards Bridge of Allan. Manufacturer certified for Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal and Vokera.
Drainage is Paul and Kyle on the same number.
Radiators, pumps, valves and balancing across the older centre and the newer estates.
It runs the fan, attempts ignition, fails and locks out, over and over. The sequence is the appliance doing its job correctly on a supply that has air in it. Repeated resetting is not the answer and it does not help.
A gas hob will usually clear air quickly because it is a simple burner close to the meter. A boiler has a longer run and a more exacting ignition sequence, so it can still be struggling after the hob is fine. That combination confuses people.
Common in Stirling with student and let property over the summer. The supply is isolated in June and turned back on in September, and the first thing anyone tries is the heating.
A boiler repeatedly forced through a failed ignition sequence is not doing itself any favours. Where it will not light after a couple of attempts, the right move is to stop and find out why rather than keep pressing.
Stirling is priced the same as everywhere else we cover. You get a clear price before any work starts and that price is what goes on the invoice. Purging a supply and getting an appliance lit is a short visit rather than a repair, and it is priced as the small job it is. If we find a genuine fault behind it, we stop and tell you what that means before going on.

“Our radiator pipe was bent and leaking. They answered straight away… Guy was here an hour later and he was wearing ID, very professional, patient and kind. We just got a new carpet in this room and he done an amazing job on getting little to no water on it. Couldn't recommend enough, price was reasonable.”

“We lost heating just in time for the coldest day of the year with a baby in the house… When I contacted them they were ready to dispatch that night. Fixed by the afternoon. Quoted that morning and no extra charges were added. Honestly cannot thank them enough.”

“As a small business owner, I needed a drainage company that could respond quickly. The team attended first thing in the morning, cleared the blocked drain and carried out a full CCTV survey. All documentation emailed across promptly. Professional, efficient and great value for money.”
